SENIOR WEBSPHERE/JEE SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR RFQ ICT – 0281
at Govt Client in Canberra
Services/work required:
The Specified Personnel will be required to provide, but not limited to, the following services:
• Provide multiplatform /midrange high level expertise and support
• Provide help desk and oncall support
• Resolve midrange performance and stability problems, capacity planning, vendor liaison & consultancy
• Test and implement procedures
• Provide a high level of technical support for Websphere products; as well,
The successful applicant will be required to:
Develop standards and Support documents for WebSphere Application Infrastructure
Liaise with stakeholders to support WebSphere-based applications agreed environments, according to design and in accordance with standards and procedures
Undertake analysis and troubleshooting activities in Windows VM-WebSphere and network protocols with a view to ensure overall system performance
• Perform administration and management on Websphere platforms
• Provide technical expert advice to midrange application developers on matters pertaining to Websphere issues.
• Provide midrange technical support/advice
• Provide midrange technical consultancy/support
• Train other staff members
• Provide forward capacity planning and position for future growth
Methodology:
The Specified Personnel will be required to use DHS Project Management and appropriate DHS development lifecycle methodology.
The services are to be supplied on site during normal business hours. The Specified Personnel will be employed on a full time basis, with the maximum hours of work to be 40 hours per week.
Performance:
Assigned project tasks / milestones are met.
Specifications to be completed in accordance with DHS standards and FMA certification requirements.
Documentation:
Specifications to be completed in accordance with project schedule, to Technical Leader for review and to Project Manager for FMA purposes.
These include:
Technical Specification;
Architecture design papers;
Design documentation;
Implementation Plans
Registry Files; and
Skills transfer documentation as directed by team leader
Skills Knowledge Transfer:
All code will be documented in accordance with DHS standards, including technical specifications.
Review of artefacts will be undertaken along with participation of permanent staff members.
Participation in team forums, including document reviews, planning / design sessions will be used to transfer specialist knowledge to staff. Direct advice and / or training will be required.
Evidence based skills transfer will be required to be demonstrated.

Essential Criteria:
Must have extensive midrange systems design experience including highly available topologies in Service Oriented Architectures.
Must demonstrate experience in implementing WebSphere-based application infrastructure and provide examples in response to RFQ showing where this experience has been gained and applied.
Weighted Criteria:
Demonstrated extensive midrange systems design experience including highly available topologies in Service Oriented Architectures
Demonstrated experience in supporting WebSphere-based application infrastructure
Demonstrated extensive systems analysis and troubleshooting experience
Demonstrate extensive knowledge of IBM HTTP Server or Apache2.
Demonstrate extensive knowledge of Windows VM environments
Any required particular personnel Not Applicable.

Timeframe for required Services Approximately 12 months
