AUTOMATION TEST SPECIALISTS RFQ 12-2011
at Govt Client in Canberra
The role of an Automation Specialist for Projects is:
- Primarily to work closely with business, applications and test teams to implement automation of necessary and appropriate automation scripts.
- Secondary, ensure re-use of automated test scripts, in particular regression scripts
MAX RATE:
- $80 - 95 per hr ex GST.
Tasks Responsibility
Test Planning
Read and understand business specifications and supporting documentation
Conduct information sessions and walkthroughs
Prepare test plans documenting the scope, purpose, testing considerations, test cases including test objectives, preconditions, test steps and expected results
Execute any pre-testing test cases
Evaluate test results
Raise test defects
Test Automation Mentoring of other staff in automation practices
Identify all Automation components to be created, modified or reused
Design, implement and maintain automation tests for Functional, Integration and Regression test phases
Keep project / section / team documentation updated
Conduct peer reviews
General Adhere to Quality Assurance Team standards for testing and automation
Provide regular reports on progress to the Test Manager
Identify any project, and or testing risks, to the Test Manager
Skill set
SELECTION CRITERIA
Demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of application development, database design (DB2 environments) and usage issues.
Sound knowledge in standard test practices, including: v model and International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB)
3-5 years Automation experience with mainframe, midrange or PC development environments, covering user interface (UI) and non user interface (nonUI) automation practices.
Experience with SQL, HP Quality Center 9.2+, WinRunner 8.2+and HP Quick Test Pro (QTP 10.0+).
Period Commencing as soon as possible with the contract up to 30th June 2011. Further extensions may be offered.
