ICT INFRASTRUCTURE ARCHITECT

AusAID is an autonomous agency within the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Portfolio. The Information Services Branch is responsible for the delivery of Information Services to business staff and manages IT Infrastructure, IT Security and Business Systems Development for AusAID. The client support base consists of around 1100 users in Central Office and 550 international staff. International staff are generally co-located with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The AusAID IT infrastructure is based predominantly on Intel hardware and Microsoft Server and Desktop operating systems over a Cisco based network.
The Information Services Branch (ISB) is responsible for the AusAID information management and technology environment and corporate systems. ISB develops and provides advice on AusAID strategies, policies, procedures and programs in respect to information management and technology services provided by the Branch.
The AusAID Chief Information Officer (CIO) manages the Branch. This role sits within the ICT Infrastructure section and reports to the Director ISB Infrastructure.

AusAID requires an ICT Infrastructure Architect to provide strategic and technical design advice on enterprise-wide deployment of new and existing technologies and appropriate supporting IT infrastructure in an international network.
The overall responsibilities of the position are to collaborate with existing ISB technical staff:
