Contract BUSINESS ANALYST SRN 0166

at Govt Client in Canberra

A. Selection Criteria:
To be successful in this role the candidate must be prove their:

1. Ability to provide strategic advice on how organisations can apply technology to meet policy and business objectives, specifically in relation to the Australian Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector and the Australian Government.

2. Ability to ensure that the multi-disciplinary (technical and non-technical) project and development teams have ready access to the comprehensive, detailed, clear and intelligible advice about the My Skills business requirements and the VET sector. Candidates without extensive current VET sector knowledge must demonstrate their ability to gain this understanding within a very short period, as the project is at a critical stage.

3. Capacity to communicate clearly, to negotiate persuasively and to build relationships with a wide range of different groups, including public servants from all levels of government, non-government stakeholders (including peak bodies), project team members and technical staff.

4. Experience working as a contractor on technology projects within a government environment with its corresponding constraints, and potential ambitious timeframes, tight deadlines and competing priorities.

5. Demonstrated communication and team building skills including, excellent oral communication, people skills and the ability to work within a team environment.

B. Timeframes for the Services
ASAP to 30 June 2011, with a possible extension depending on funding availability.

C. Security Conditions

a. Australian Federal Police (AFP) Police Records Check
[The check will be carried out only for successful candidates.]
Successful candidate(s) will be required to undergo an AFP Police Records Check. This check will be arranged by the Department at the commencement of an engagement of a Contractor. The Australian Government will meet the standard AFP cost.
