freelance SAS DATAWAREHOUSE REPORT DEVELOPERS RFQ: ICT-138

Role Description:

The AFP requires the services of multiple SAS Data Warehouse/ Report Developers. The Data Warehouse/ Report Developers will have an important role in supporting the delivery of new reports, enhancements to existing reports, maintenance and support of existing reports, and maintenance of appropriate documentation.


Principal Responsibilities:

• Provide technical advice to the Data warehouse Administrator, Reporting Team Leader, other developers, and business representatives as necessary;
• Undertake complex analysis and conceptual design work;
• Interpret reporting requirement specifications and translate them into appropriate report designs;
• Maintain and enhance current reports and documentation;
• Develop new data warehouse and reporting capability and associated documentation;
• Respond to reported incidents, performing fault diagnosis and rectification work;
• Develop or assist in the development of report prototypes, and contribute to end-user requirements workshops;
• Maintain documentation in accordance with the AFP’s report development process standards;
• Work in a team environment; and
• Provide knowledge/skills transfer to other team members.


Selection Criteria:

TO BE ELIGIBLE, CANDIDATES MUST ADDRESS THE SELECTION CRITERIA
OUTLINED BELOW CITING RELEVANT EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY
AND OUTCOMES:
• Proven technical ability and commercial experience in the development of reports using commercial of the shelf software packages and based on information stored in relational databases (experience with SAS 9 and
Hyperion an advantage);
• Meticulous approach to report development, including the ability to contribute to the development of policies, procedures, documentation and standards;
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, under pressure, following established procedures and under limited supervision to tight deadlines;
• Well developed analytical and conceptual skills;
• Good communication skills;
• Formal qualifications in information, communications or technology from a recognised tertiary institution or extensive demonstrated equivalent skills and experience; and
• Demonstrated knowledge of OH&S policy and procedures and a
demonstrated commitment to the principles of Equity and Diversity.


ALL APPLICANTS MUST HAVE AUSTRALIAN CITIZENSHIP (note – permanent residency status will not satisfy this citizenship requirement).


Term of Agreement: Initial Agreement through to 30 June 2011. Extension of the Agreement after the initial period is dependent on a satisfactory performance assessment and ongoing business requirements.


Mandatory Drug Testing: Successful applicants will be required to undertake a test for illicit drugs in accordance with the AFP Illicit Drug Free Work Force Policy.


Security Level Required: Secret. – Candidates should be aware that the security clearance process can take some time to complete. To assist in the timely completion of the security clearance process, it is highly desirable that potential candidates currently hold or have previously held a Commonwealth Government
Security Classification or have maintained Australian Residency for the past 10 years.
