freelance ADVANTAGE GEN COOLGEN DEVELOPER (x1) SRN 0073

at Govt client in canberra

Selection Criteria:

1. Describe your industry based knowledge and experience in the delivery of systems requirements based on the following:
i. Analysis, design and programming of large systems using Advantage:Gen / Cool:Gen in a CICS/DB2 mainframe environment

Note: Your response should make reference to the following where applicable including levels of experience and complexity of work undertaken.

a) Advantage:Gen / Cool:Gen (including experience with native COBOL)
b) Component based development
c) AccessGEN (tool we have bought for looking at Coolgen without having to go to the encyclopaedia- a lot of companies use it)
d) JCL and batch programming
e) DB2 and SQL performance tuning
f) Enterprise Architect (desirable) (not many will have experience with this)
g) Model management and Troubleshooting
h) Maintenance of ISPF panels.
i) CICS Maintenance and Programming


MANDATORY – General Criteria – General Criteria must be completed in addition to the respective criteria contained in the roles above.

1. Well developed communication skills, including:
i. read, comprehend and write technical material effectively
ii. negotiation and liaison skills
iii. ability to communicate with staff from technical and non-technical backgrounds
iv. presentation skills.

2. Demonstrated capacity to work effectively as
i. as a team member
ii. as a mentor
iii. as an individual
iv. to tight timeframes.

1st July for up to 6 months
