freelance 12 months contract data warehouse architect role with federal agency

Seeking information architect / data modeller with experience architecting, designing, and modelling data from disparate sources.

As an information architect, your overall responsibilities will include:

* Undertake analysis work to define the data and information requirements for management. * Identify the common data and information requirements across business lines and technology platforms. * Identify appropriate data and information standards. * Develop the future state data and information models to support business requirements. * Define and validate the business rules related to data and information processing. * Translate information and data models into viable, maintainable and efficient database designs. * Analyse the data input and output requirements and internal information flows and develop architecture artefacts. * Facilitate communication with other integrated work programs in respect of information architecture. * Contribute to the estimation of effort in relation to the implementation of data and information management systems. * Oversee the development of data transition plans. This may extend to the management of large and complex data transformations and migrations. * Ensure that the information architecture and databases provide support for Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence capabilities.

Requisite qualifications and experience:

* Demonstrated knowledge of Information Architecture. * Demonstrated experience architecting, designing, and modelling data from disparate sources. * Demonstrated experience in analysing business information requirements. * Demonstrated sound analytical, problem solving and information modelling skills. * Demonstrated experience in developing databases that align to the information model and support the system requirements. * Demonstrated understanding and application of standards, metadata repositories, data dictionaries and corporate glossaries. * Experience with ADABAS and ORACLE and designing for large databases, preferably on both mainframes and servers would be highly desirable
